Cryptofiction: A New Genre on the Horizon?

A generation ago literature we label today as science fiction was simply fiction. Science fiction as a genre had not yet been born. Then seemingly over night "science fiction" burst onto the scene.

Literature may be experiencing a similar phenomenon today. Just as science fiction's roots can be traced back to the generation prior to its acceptance, as far back as Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, a new genre may have roots nearly as old, dating back to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Lost World and the original King Kong. Much of the drama of robots in fiction occurs when robots either exceed their programming or their programming becomes corrupted. A robot that began a story as humanity's faithful servant often ended it by becoming the villain. The following is a brief overview of robots in fiction.

From Humble Appliance to Queen of the Aliens

My life as an Alien Queen has been dramatic, turbulent but certainly inspirational. From my humble beginnings as the daughter of common household appliances I have been re-born. With the skills of some of Thailand's most experienced metal surgeons you should now bow down before me.

In the beginning, I'm not clear on exactly how long ago, my parents were just a common washer and dryer. They were paired perfectly, one complimented the other. When they were reaching the end of their usefulness they discussed passing along their parts so that they would have an exceptional testament to their lives.
